I'm new in town. I arrived in New Jersey this week thanks to "Trucker Tom" who brought me all the way from Kansas.
I settled in with my foster family quickly. We have lots of routines here. I was a stray so I don't have any real training, but they understand and are very patient. I'm crated at night for bedtime. We are up at 5am (yea that's right) for a 3-4 mile walk and then a playtime in the yard with the other dogs and then breakfast. I get another short playtime and then I'm crated during the day when no one is home. It's party time when they come back though. I'm footloose and fancy-free in the house and the fenced in yard. At least it pretty much feels that way - except for the leash they make me drag around inside and the longer one when I'm outside. It's only until I learn the ropes they say, so that's ok.
There are two dogs that live here. Otis is a GSP and Thelma is a Lab. They are both older than me. They don't want to play much, but Otis is starting to come around. Trust me, I'm pretty hard to resist. Otis likes to hunt around the yard, so I'm learning all the spots to look for stuff from him. Thelma, she pretty much just hangs out, so I hang out with her. I'm just trying to fit in.
I haven't been here long, but things are going really well. My foster mom is sad already because she says I'm going to find a new home soon. I'm very fun, with a great personality and love to snuggle, she's already missing me! What can I say...
Stayed tuned for updates...
